Indulge yourself

Pound the fruit….get high.

Party slang aside, there is a serious buzz to be had in this “indulge in tons of fruit thing.” Life ain’t nuthin’ but a party when your poundin’ down the fruit. For all the fruit toddlers out there, I just wanna say, you can’t have any idea how powerful this stuff is when you having one serving here and there. I never had a clue back when I dabbled in fruit.

I’m generally in a good mood, relatively speaking. People think I’m easy going and always happy. I have my ups and downs, but don’t let it show. So contrary to what people might think, I know mood swings. The emotional lift that you get from consuming produce with pits is powerful. I never have built up a tolerance to it’s effect. It gets you up and holds you there, steady for quite some time.

I don’t mean an orange here and a pear there. That does nothing. More like half a melon or more, 5 bananas, and a smoothie concoction. Not all at one time. That covers the first part of the day. Each session immediately brings my mood up to about as high as possible relative to what kind of day I’m having. I look forward to these mealetts for the natural high alone. The more you eat wonderful fruit, the better it tastes and the more you crave it. It’s always a win-win and win again situation with this stuff.

The reason that there is such a dramatic difference when eating this way, has to be that it gets in your blood, literally. When you just sample fruit you get no where in this game. Fruit was meant to be pounded down in massive volumes. Just as the fat fear was found to be unfounded, the fruit fear will be eliminated in no time. All the worries regarding fruit sugar are misplaced. The science behind the fear is missing the big picture of how fruit works with our bodies. Practically everything we need is perfectly supplied in fruit. It processes in our bodies at just the right rate, balanced by natures perfect recipe. Add some veggies and your done.

Now, I for one don’t believe that good health practices can’t be fun. The idea that restriction and discipline are required for good health, is annoying to me. Here’s what I think. Everyone gets to decide what works best for them. There are no rules in raw food health. When you are eating a large amount of raw food, you are on such a roll with your energy and health that some cooked food here and there can’t bring you down. No way. Enjoy and indulge, because nothing can stop you when your on the raw.

Please…..life is too wonderful and too short, to not have cake and eat it too. Raw food health brings the life back to life. There are so many aspects that are improved in ones life when this one easy change is implemented.

Get crazy with this. I’ll tell you what’s really wild and out of control. Pound a bunch of fruit and wash it down with your favorite coffee, if that’s your cup of tea. I’ve tried it and the buzz you get is out of this world.

There are no rules in raw.

Indulge.

Fear not. There’s protein in fruits and vegetables.

The protein that everyone is concerned about is in all the fruits and vegetables. Yep, don’t that beat all. It’s right there for all your protein lovin’ needs. Some fruits and vegetables even contain all of the 8 essential amino acids. Run that fun fact by your friends and see what they say. Bananas, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, corn, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprout, okra, peas summer squash and kale contain all 8 of the essential amino acids that our bodies need . Broccoli and romaine have more protein per calorie than sirloin steak. Broccoli has 13.2 grams per 100 calories, Romaine has 10 grams and sirloin has 6.7 grams per 100 calories.

Never heard that before? Me neither till not too long ago. This explains how people that eat only fruit (know as fruitarians) can do so well. I use to think that they used some sort of magic to get by. I’m not sure why this hasn’t been widely known till recently. It’s still on the down low because there’s been so much concern that plant eaters don’t get enough of that all important protein. It’s been drilled into us from our childhood days that protein is sooooooo important. Fear has taken control of our eating habits.

I hope that you consider this valuable piece of information when you consume fruits and vegetables in the future. Instead of eating a bit of these little miracles and then moving on to the more popular sources of protein, you might just stick with the fruits and vegetables. Knowing how well these raw food choices take care of you is a big part of being successful at raw food health.

One aspect that I really appreciate since I went raw is that it’s so simple. Knowing that it’s O.K. to eat a large serving of just one food has been liberating. Instead of having to orchestrate multiple items in an elaborate scheme to be satisfied, I can just attack a large amount of one thing and get on with my life. Digestion is fast and easy this way and a lot of energy is freed up that normally would be needed to process the complex food combinations. That bogged down feeeling that comes after eating the old way is gone.

Life doesn’t have to be so complicated. Nature looks after us. It delivers everything and more in these gifts from heaven that we call fruits and vegetables. It’s all there. Ready and waiting. Have faith that simplicity works.

Just eat it.

Organic raw food health is way too simple for the modern world

Organic raw food health is obviously way to simple to be accepted in the complicated modern world. It’s hard to squeeze simplicity into a busy schedule. No time for simple these days. Everyday we take on more to do and somehow squeeze the more complicated in. Simple is left behind in a rush to do better. I find myself tied to a clock in my head that updates me regularly on where I’m at regarding the time allotted to the task I am engaged in. It’s hard to live in the present moment when the clock of limited time is updating me on the urgency of getting through what I am doing so I can move on to keep with the schedule. Often a voice inside me cries out…. Stop this runaway train of too much to do. I have to get off. This really isn’t the way life should be.

Everyone seems to be on this train of very limited time. The cost of living is way too high to slow down and do something simple. Smell the roses, eat the fruit, be in the present moment. All those simple things aren’t possible. It’s strange how complicated is doable but simple is way too much to ask for. One thing that I have learned about the complicated world is that it’s too complicated to make sense.

Organic farming is based on simplicity. Cut out the chemicals. Feed the soil whole food and the plant is healthier. Healthier plants and no chemicals means a healthier us. A healthier us means a happier life. Organic raw food health is easier on our over stretched and complicated medical care system. An once of prevention is always worth a pound of cure. Very simple.

The funny thing about eating organic raw food is that it is way too simple for most people to wrap their heads around. It’s so simple that it just can’t be done. Simple makes no sense to the inhabitants of this complicated world. If somehow we could find the time to peel a banana or cut up a cantaloupe then eating raw food might be possible. But there’s no time for that. Crazy.

Organic raw food health is mostly about saving time in the most powerful and effective way. It is simplicity at it’s best. So many issues are dealt with this one concept. It is uncomplicated in it’s implementation. You stop or cut back on the cooking or eating out. Extensive clean up is eliminated. Weight management is no longer needed. The mood improves considerably in a natural way. Just being becomes satisfying. The constant chasing after activities to improve the mood are no longer necessary. Sleep requirements are reduced. Doctor visits and medication are reduced and eliminated. Future health problems and disease are prevented from ever having to steal from your life. Money is saved. It is endless what this one simple change in lifestyle does to free up time in a complicated world. In addition, all kinds of food, cooked or raw tastes even better when your raw food intake increases.

Maybe the effects of too much cooked food in our systems is at play here. The state of mind in the complicated cooked food world could be described as the irritable mood syndrome. The mood improvement alone makes incorporating raw food into your life a win-win situation. Sadly, if you haven’t experienced the consistent level of bliss that comes from organic raw food you wouldn’t know what you’re missing. I can only tell you from the experience that I have had. I was always between a 5 and 7 on a mood scale. In the last 3 months of eating 95% raw, my mood has been between an 8 and 10.

Simply, that by itself makes the whole world that I live in so much nicer. Everything falls into place naturally when your attitude and thoughts are vibrating at a high level. Nothing improves your attitude permanently like organic raw food.

Thankfully…… it’s as simple as that.

Indulge yourself in organic raw food health

I hear it all the time. People tell me my diet is boring and they could never eat in such a limited way. If they only knew how unlimited and free it is to eat this way. A raw food diet is actually an adventure in eating fun. There are more choices then you can imagine. There is no set particular organic raw food health diet. It is as in any style of eating. You choose your own preferences in meal and snack choices that are unique to you. You get your favorites down and roll with it. Funny thing is, the last thing this seems like is limited. You can eat like a pig and not gain any weight. The energy and improvement in mood is so dramatic. The freedom that comes from not cooking or extensive cleaning up, results in a streamlined life that grooves with the high paced world we live in.

I have always felt that fruit was a huge treat. Nothing to me is more luxurious than the flavors of pineapple and mango, coconut and kiwi or any fruit for that matter. As a kid getting to have some watermelon was always a big deal for me. As I grew older it seemed that there was no room for that kind of fun in my life. Now I feel like a kid again. Everyday can be a tropical paradise dream. Flavors of all foods have become more intense and my mood level has skyrocketed to a zone I haven’t been in since my childhood days. Organic raw food health feels so incredibly good.

The dangers of fruit sugar are completely unfounded. There is never a need to limit this kind of treat because it is packaged perfectly by mother nature. Fruits contain fiber and chemicals that slow the absorption of sugar to a level that works extremely well. So sugar “by itself” may indeed be a problem, however when you are eating fruit, you are not only eating sugar, you are eating all the vitamins, minerals, fiber, phytonutrients, etc. associated with the fruit. It’s a perfectly packaged miracle. Nature knows exactly what it’s doing.

Now for me, fruit makes up a large part of my diet, however there are many more raw food choices. It’s infinite what you can come up with that works for you. I will explore all the unlimited possibilities that an organic raw food health plan can offer. Right here I just want to let you know that the world of raw food is the opposite of restriction. It’s about being set free from the requirements of cooking and the fatigue that comes from digesting an unenlightened food. Words cannot convey what it feels like to indulge in raw food decadence. Down a luscious smoothie. Engulf mounds of raw chocolate made with delicious coconut oil and sweetened perfectly with heavenly agave nectar. Gobble sweet strawberries like popcorn. In a hurry? Grab 5 bananas. That should carry you with more energy than you’ll need for a while. Throw in your favorite salad and a hand full of macadamia nuts. You wont believe how good you’ll feel and you’ll never gain a pound. If you feel like eating some cooked food by all means enjoy. That’s what organic raw food health is all about. The freedom to eat whatever you feel like and don’t let anyone tell you differently.

The thing is…. as I found out to my surprise, it’s extremely easy to get hooked on raw food. Whether you eat raw exclusively or combine it with some cooked food, one thing is for sure. Your taste buds become enlivened and everything tastes better than ever before. Indulge yourself.
